CellVanish FAQ’s

Q. Who would want to track me?
A. Good question. Maybe nobody is tracking you. But your phone is still recording everywhere you go and what you are doing. And that information is uploaded to your network. What happens to it after that is unknown, but it is out of your control at that point.

Q. Why can’t I just shut my phone off and be protected?
A. With many phones, off isn’t really off. Your phone is just in a sleep mode. It can therefore be remotely turned on by your network. Or it may still be gathering data that it will report later when powered on.

Q. Am I protected if I remove the battery from my phone?
A. Probably, but try to remove the battery on your iPhone. Also remember that different model phones operate differently. The main battery may or may not be the only power source your phone has.

Q. What signals will the CellVanish block?
A. All signals, 3G, 4G, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and more.

Q. How does the CellVanish block signals?
A. When the flap is folded in (secured mode) the CellVanish acts as a Faraday Cage, a shield that signals can’t penetrate.

Q. How does the CellVanish allow my phone to work normally?
A. You can think of the flap as an antenna. When the antenna is out (access mode) it allows your phone to receive and transmit signals normally.

Q. What happens if someone calls while my phone is secured in the CellVanish case?
A. Calls will go to voicemail after the number of rings you set up. You will receive all voicemails once you place the CellVanish in access mode or when you remove your phone from the case.

Q. What happens if someone emails or texts while my phone is secured in the CellVanish case?
A. Your emails and texts are stored on your network. You will receive all emails and texts once you place the CellVanish in access mode or when you remove your phone from the case.

Q. Will my alarm(s) still function while my phone is secured in the CellVanish case?
A. Yes, all alarms will function as normal whether the CellVanish is in secured or access mode.

Q. Will having my phone in the CellVanish case cause the battery to drain faster?
A. No, not that we have found. We have tested many model phones and none have shown to have battery issues. Most phones recognize that they are not receiving input signal therefore they don’t transmit at high power, as some older phones may have done.

Q. Will I receive all calls, texts and emails when in access mode, with the flap folded out?
A. Yes, as long as the signal strength on your phone shows at least a couple of bars. In extremely low signal strength areas (1 bar or less) some calls may go to voicemail. Once you return to a higher signal strength area everything will function as normal.

Q. What else can be protected in the CellVanish case?
A. Any RFID type cards such as credit cards, access cards, toll cards and more can be protected when in secure mode in the CellVanish case.
